I just read your comment.the movie was great and i loved it. Although they were courageous and tried to change things, i kept wondering towards the end of the movie, did they actually change things? or did they just die and things remained the same.......having this thought leads me to think......did they go the right way? I really dont know....but i totally agree with the fact that they were courageous enough to fight for something that was wrong in the society,(people these days seem to go wiht the flow, doesnt matter right or wrong) i just didnt like the fact they had to die for it.....Am i contradicting myself....hope not!!
You write and speak very well......Good luck!

i dont quite get your argument. You say that "Rang de Basanti does not advocate the method, but rather, the courage to take on the responsibility for bringing about change, to take responsibility for the state of things in your country rather than simply blaming the other, to question and resist injustice, to follow the truth."

But then you go on saying that RDB and Mahatma Gandhi's methods are both the same. Now I would like to ask you just this - by saying that both RDB and MK's actions just encourage one to take up responsibility to change something would just mean to look at the top surface and wash away the most all important body of the story. Its plain and simple - is it violence or non-violence..By saying that, either one is fine as long as you feel something to do can possibly spark off the volatile minds of Indians (who I feel wait for an opportunity to pull down shops and attack innocent people in the name of religion or whatever).. So I feel that although your argument is fine for starters, it needs to get in deep for someone to really understand the meaning of the movie and the real meaning of the non-violent freedom struggle.

Hey Naresh,
Just read this last blog on Rang de basanti. It sounds like a great moment - and i'm so glad that you're trying to spread the spark that you carry to others to.
Strangely enough, or perhaps because i havent been inspired enough till now- i haven't yet watched RDB.
take care,
